I told you about AirTel, the Indian mobile service provider, bringing iPhone to India later this year. I also told you that the iPhone, which AirTel is planning to launch might be a 3G iPhone as AirTel has successfully tested 3G applications in India's major metro cities. Well, now I would put an end to my speculations as this one directly comes from the horse's mouth.

Soon customers will be able to purchase iPhone 3G at Airtel Relationship Centers. Details of pricing and availability will be announced at a later date. Airtel customers who wish to receive more information on iPhone 3G can send an SMS with keyword "iPhone" to 54321 (toll-free).
