Two days back Samsung officially unveiled its Symbian based, Omnia HD in India. The Omnia HD was launched by Samsung long time back but it is now available in India at a price of INR 33,900. Apart from a Symbian based phone, the Omnia HD , which has made its way to India has a 1GHz processor, this is surprising because the Omnia HD comes with a 600 MHz ARM processor in other parts of the world. If you look at the pricing and features of the device with home screen widgets and stuff, the Omnia HD essentially competes with its brother from another mother the Nokia N97 base on the Symbian S60 V5. Samsung Omnia HD will appeal to Indian mobile users because of its big 3.7 inch AMOLED touch screen, which has Samsung's TouchWiz UI technology, 8 meg snapper (720p functionality), Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, DLNA. Though many of the features of the Omnia HD are impressive, price can be a dampener for most of the mobile buyers. General tendency being, if I am spending so much, then just let me check out the iPhone 3G!!
