One of its kind Mobile Phone Blog, that gives you views and news about mobile phones from India and across the world. I am in love with Nokia and their phones but I also write about other mobile guys. Think Mobile..Think NAMP!!!!

Mobile service providers not being transparent with their policies with respect to customers is not a new thing to we Indians. If you have a post-paid or a pre-paid connection then you might have experienced a lot of hidden costs being charged to you by the operator. Many such cases are with the consumer courts in different cities in India. But now good time has come for us as, TRAI will soon be getting strict with the operators and pre-paid customers would be benefitted by this move of TRAI. TRAI has come up with a set of guidelines, which every operator has to follow and the main focus of these guideline is to be transparent with tariffs. These tariffs will be applicable from September 15th 2008. According to new guidelines from TRAI,

  • Pre-paid customers would get full talk time and they will be charged a mere sum of 2 Rs. as administrative fee, cool na!!!
  • If the operator does any kind of tariff reduction, they have to do it for all the subscribers and not few
  • Lifetime subscribers can migrate to a lower tariff plan and they won’t be charged anything extra, same is the case for pre-paid customers who want to shift to post paid
  • Operators should inform the subscribers about tariff change in vernacular language as well
