Not Another Mobile Phone Blog

One of its kind Mobile Phone Blog, that gives you views and news about mobile phones from India and across the world. I am in love with Nokia and their phones but I also write about other mobile guys. Think Mobile..Think NAMP!!!!

Videocon announced there telecom plans few days back and they even said that they have set up a mobile manufacturing facility that can churn out 10 million units in a year. Also there were rumors of Videocon buying the ailing business unit of Motorola. But for a long time nothing official came out from both the companies regarding this buyout. Now the news of this buyout has again surfaced after Business Standard reported yesterday about Videocon buying the ailing unit of Motorola’s business. Motorola is finding out ways to move it mobile handset business away from their other business units and Videocon’ Chairman Venugopal Dhoot has just said that their talks with Motorola are in initial stages of discussion and nothing concrete has come up. Apart from this, Videocon is also very ambitious about its telecom plans and 3G services. Videocon’s technical collaboration with various companies will help them in rolling out 3G services quickly in India. But I seriously think that Motorola should get rid of their ailing handset business by selling it to someone like Videocon, they know the Indian market well as compared to Videocon and it has been difficult for Motorola to crack the Indian market.
