Nielsen reports that Android is the most popular operating system among smart phone users in the US. The data is based on the number of people who bought a smart phone in the last six months. These are August '10 numbers and the second sport fight is between, you guessed it right, RIM's Blackberry OS and Apples iPhone OS. However, if you look at the market share of these OSs, Blackberry is numero uno with 31% markets share, followed by Apple, who stands second with 28%. Android is third in terms of smart phone OS market share with 19%. But if you notice, Blackberry's overall market share is declining while that of Apple is increasing but there have been fluctuations in the past. But Android is showing steady growth from Jan'10 (8%) to Aug'10 (19%).
