Though Android's App Store is lagging behind Apple's App Store in terms of sales from paid apps, number of apps listed and number of apps downloaded, it is still giving a good competition to Apple's App store and growing at phenomenal rates. Given the popularity of Android and the support it has been getting from lot of OEMs like HTC and Samsung, it is pretty evident that, it is here to stay and grow. It seems Amazon is also thinking on cashing on the popularity of Android, as it will soon launch its own store where Android apps will be listed for use on Android smart phones. So how will this store work? Amazon will list developers who can sell their apps on this store and get 70% of the revenues and Amazon will get 30%. Works out well for Amazon, Developers as well as Android, given the humongous reach Amazon has as an online market place.
