Nokia launched the N78 and the N96 along with three other handsets at the MWC 2008. After the worldwide launch the N78 was launched yesterday in India. N78 is a multimedia computer that combines music, navigation and photography. The device, based on the S60 3rd Edition developer platform, features integrated A-GPS navigation, 3.2-megapixel snapper with Carl Zeiss optics, and support for a microSD memory card of up to 8 gigabytes to store music and media. The Nokia N78 device can also be used for "geotagging," the process of autotagging photos with location metadata. Using the ‘location tagging’ application present in the Nokia N78, users can automatically tag the location data to the picture they have clicked. This allows the users to save the pictures by date as well as by location coordinates. The devices will be available in India at a retail price of $466. The Nokia N78 is a perfect blend of music, camera and Internet and is one of the Nokia’s devices that will pioneer the idea of user-generated content. The Indian version of the N78 will come preloaded with maps of 8 cities and will also have information across 52 categories such as cafes, restaurants, hotels and more. It will also come with a three-month navigation license in India.
