QWERTY keyboard and computers have a long association. People would have never though that these keyboards would come on their handheld devices and mobile phones. Today many smart phones, BlackBerrys have these kinds of keyboards and people are very much happy using them. Companies like RIM and Palm made QWERTY keyboard popular among the mobile phone users. The other day I was reading the interview of the co-CEO of RIM, the company behind the popular enterprise phone, BlackBerry. He was asked about the future mobile trend and to my surprise he didn’t say it was mobile convergence, he said full QWERTY keyboards is the most exciting mobile trend. People today are suing their mobile phones for messaging, taking pictures, blogging, sending mails, getting connected to their businesses and having a full QWERTY keyboard is really something that will help them in doing all these things more efficiently and accurately. So it doesn’t matter that you have a smart phone and it was the latest connectivity technologies and functionalities, if it has a cramped keyboard then what is the use. To exploit full power of these multimedia and enterprise phones, the keyboard has to be QWERTY. The fact that the best mobile phones today have QWERTY keyboards, seconds what I am saying. According to me, Nokia E90 Communicator, Sony Ericsson XPERIA X1, BlackBerry 9000 Bold, HTC Touch Pro, Samsung BlackJack, are some of the best QWERTY mobile phones that are present in the market today.
