What a world cup it was...simply awesome....Italy deserved this years world cup..Italy was defended by a captain like Fabio .....its soldiers Del piero, Grosso, Gilardino fought like brave warriors and were triumphant at the end....Italy deserved the world cup....but this year's final wil be remembered for an unforgattable incident between Zidane and Materazzi.....What was going on in Zidane's mind when he head butted Materazzi...God Knows. He was very well aware of the fact that Thiery Henry was already gone, and Ribery had aslo left..still he took a drastic step of hitting his Italian counterpart.I like Zidane and admire his style of playing and his ability to charismatically handle and manipulate the ball....but I was also shocked by this incident and I strongly feel that some major provocation from Materazzi would have made Zidane to take this action. But as we all know Zidane is a magnificent player and his career is a book of his astonishng achievements, the Materazzi incident is just a footnote.
