Nokia 5130.jpg

Nokia has launched its new XpressMusic phone the Nokia 5130 in India. This one comes much after Nokia launched the Nokia 5320 XpressMusic. Anyway, this music phone has a 2 megapixel snapper, FM radio, MP3 playback functionality, Bluetooth connectivity and microUSB support. These days they are giving microUSB support in most of their phones. Nokia is trying to connect with music lovers by offering local music content in five languages, Hindi, Kannada, Telugu, Tamil and Malayalam. The phone will come with a 1GB memory card and the content mentioned above will come loaded on that card. Users will get 50 pre-loaded songs with Nokia 5130 XpressMusic. The phone is priced at INR 6,699. At this price point, Nokia 5130 will get a lot of buyers. Apart from the hands free music listening functionality, Nokia 5130 has pretty loud speakers for music playback. The phone has come pretty late in India given the fact that it was announced in November 2008.

Remember Hikaru, the phone from Sony Ericsson that was surfacing once in a while. Well Sony Ericsson has removed the cover from Hikaru and made it official during the start of the Mobile World Congress 2009 at a press event in Barcelona. The phone will be called W995 and Hikaru was the name just for the prototype, I guess, like "Idou", which was also showcased at this press event. As you must have guessed by now, W995 is a flagship Walkman music phone from Sony Ericsson. [Pics via: SE-Community]. Check out the specifications,

Nokia 5630 XpressMusic.jpg

Nokia has launched one more music phone that takes its looks from the Nokia 5320 XpressMusic phone but is pretty slim compared to it. Say hi to Nokia 5630 XpressMusic phone from the Finnish mobile giant. The phone has a slim 12mm body with dedicated music keys, standard 3.5mm headphone jack, 3.2 mega pixel snapper, 4GB memory on-board. The phone will be shipped out with Nokia's "Comes With Music" service. The phone comes in typical XpressMusic colors, Red and Blue that you have seen on both Nokia 5800 and Nokia 5320 and yeah, also the Nokia 5220 . Some of the interesting features of this phone include the "Say and Play" feature, which lets you say the name of the artist and song and the phone will play the song for you. The phone supports Nokia N-Gage gaming platform. You can also have 20 of your frequently used contacts on the homescreen so that you don't need to search for them in the phone book. Thats a pretty interesting feature and complements Nokia's punchline, "Connecting People". This homescreen functionality also offers you full communications history, mail, calls, messages, of these 20 contacts. Connectivity options include Bluetooth 2.0, HSDPA and HSUPA connections. The phone is supposed to hit retail stores in the Q2 of 2009 and will be priced around Euro 199 or INR 12,560. This indeed is a good pricing from Nokia and looking at the kind of features this phone boasts of, this pricing will certainly lure a lot of customers, especially in the Indian market.

Samsung M700.jpg

Meet the Samsung M700, the new phone from Samsung, which has leaked just before the MObile World Congress, which kicks-off in a week. This phone, which closley resembles a PSP is a audiophile's delight, as it features, audio technology from Bang and Olufsen. The phone has a full touch screen 2.8 inch AMOLED display with 3 mega pixel snapper, HSDPA connectivity, Bluetooth and full DivX support. As I mentioned before, the in-built B&O amplifier is a audiophile's delight and if you are into creating your own music then you can use this phone's DJ application in the same way a DJ uses his/her turntable to scratch, add effects etc. You can even record your newly created music and you never know you might be the next DJ Aqeel of India. This is not the first time that the Korean mobile giant has partnered with Band and Olufesn, in 2008, both the companies launched the Samsung Sereneta Music phone for the style conscious audiophiles.
