Nokia, in the last couple of years has been closing down its factories across Europe, mainly, Finland, Germany and Hungary. The company has been on the look out for low cost destination for its manufacturing lines and seems to have found it in Vietnam. The company will be investing 276 million USD and building up a handset assembly line in Hanoi, Vietnam. The factory will kick-off in 2012 and will be 11th addition in Nokia's current network of 10 factories in nine countries. With this, Asia now has four Nokia manufacturing plants in China, India, Korea and Vietnam. As of now, the Hanoi facility will just be an assembly line for handsets, there is no confirmation on whether this factory will be used to manufacture handsets from scratch or for that matter make Nokia's Windows based phones.
