ipHone 3gs_india.jpgiPhone 3GS coming to India in August!! Yeah the newest and the fastest iPhone till now (as claimed by Apple) will be coming to India in August. During the launch event, Apple announced the US availability of the iPhone 3GS on June 19 and availability in 80 countries in the month of august. So India is one of these 80 countries. ET had reported this news yesterday. Like the last time, the iPhone 3GS will be available exclusively with AirTel and Vodafone in India. There is no clarity on the date and pricing of the device, whose predecessor didnt do that well last year. Lets see what kind of pricing do these guys come up with this year. I have a feeling that, they will keep selling the iPhone 3G at lower price and have iPhone 3GS at a premium price point. With the 3G services active in India, the new iPhones have a bright future as last year when the iPhone 3G was launched, there was no 3G but this year the availability of 3G will have a positive impact on its sales. The S in 3GS stands for speed and this new iPhone is the fastest of the lot. This times Apple has made the user experience on the new iPhone faster. The phone has a 3 mega pixel snapper (not 3.2 mega pixel) with auto focus, white balance and video capturing feature (30 fps VGA quality...hmm not impressed) (you can tap the object and the camera will focus on it), 7.2 mbps HSDPA connectivity. Voice control commands to make calls, create playlists, dial numbers, shuffle. The rumor of iPhone having a digital compass was also true , as the new iPhone 3GS has one. The compass integrates itself with the maps on iPhone. The new iPhone has hardware encryption, encrypted iTunes back-up and greatly improved battery life.
