DSC01944.JPGE-Mail on E75 - Nokia E75, being an Enterprise phones has been optimized for email communications for the business users on the go. Email communications on the E75 is one of its best feature after its rocking QWERTY keypad. Email on the Nokia E75 is a bliss. The email functionality on the E75 comes with HTML support and thats what makes it better from many of the email features that are available on other mobile phones out there. One of the main problems that i came across while handling email on the E75 is that, when you receive an email you will get a notification on the home screen. Now when you scroll to that notification and click to pone it, you will be taken to that particular mail. This is fine but after that, if you wanna browse other mails in your inbox, you cannot go them. In order to get to you inbox you have to go back to the main menu and then open the email application again. This is sometimes annoying and Nokia needs to do something about this. You will notice that the E Mail client on the E75 is much more advanced than currently available on many Nokia devices. This advance E Mail client is the killer feature of the Nokia E75. Though the E Mail client is really nice and cool, there are some problems apart from the one I highlighted above. Sometimes when I was trying to connect to my mail box the screen just froze and it automatically took me to the home screen, this happened back to back three times. I hope this was the problem with the trial device i got and not the application as a whole. I guess when this device will hit the stores for retail users, Nokia will make sure that it has an improved firmware and some of the problems highlighted above will be sorted out.

Check out the Unboxing of the Nokia E75 and Nokia E75 Review Part I. Part II is coming soon, watch out!!

DSC01946.JPGAfter getting the E75 from WOM World, I immediately started using the phone. Now as I have used the phone for more than 24 hours, I thought that I will share my initial experience with all my readers regarding the E75. I have reviewed the Nokia 6210 and the Nokia 5320 before but E75 is special phone and I am planning to do the review in parts. Just trying out something new with the way I will be reviewing mobile phones. Anyway, Coming back to the E75, the phone feels sleek and solid in hand and the slide out QWERTY keyboard is strong and does not squeak, however the alphanumeric keypad, which you will be using most of the time except when you are browsing the Internet or reading/writing mails, seems a bit cranky. The keys are not that smooth to operate. E75 feels like a narrowed down version of the E71 in hand, E71 is a bit broad but E75 is sleek and feature loaded. The alphanumeric keypad should be more clicky, however the QWERTY keyboard is nice to operate and it wont feel like key crumbling down under your fingers, keys are strong and solid. The slide-out mechanism is also nice and feels good in hands.

The keys on the side are pretty handy and lets you control the volume of the phone, take pictures, access to microUSB and the phone's memory card. Easy to operate and easy to find, like most of the Nokia phones. The top and bottom of the phone is clean with just one standard headphone jack socket on the top and a charging socket at the bottom, that's all.

DSC01944.JPGThe home screen is nice and big and gives you access to all your needed functionalities. It lets you switch easily between business and personal mode. If you have not set-up the mailbox it will notify on the right-bottom of the screen (you can hide this notification), if a message comes a icon will be displayed in the middle-bottom of the screen and if you scroll to that using the D-Pad, it will show from whom you have received the message. A similar notification will come for you missed calls on the left-bottom of the home screen.

The menu layout in the E75 is indeed confusing. It takes time for you to figure out, which icons are where and come times finding particular options like camera option, share online and other things takes time. That part was really irritating but its OK, the crisp resolution made my day and color rich menu is appealing. The battery cover of the phone is made of steel and looks classy. The best thing that I liked about Nokia E75 is its battery cover removal button. Sometimes removing the battery cover on Nokia phones is tedious but no on the E75. You just need to slide the battery cover button back and the cover will pop up. The phone sports a 3.2 mega pixel snapper and the picture quality is ok that that great as compared to 3.2 mega pixel snapper phones from Sony Ericsson.

The Nokia E75 is a nice, solid and robust phone. I am satisfied with the phone after using for almost 24 hours but then in the coming few days I will be using the E75 to it full capacity. So hang on, as an in-depth review will soon follow. In the mean while you can check out the Unboxing pics of the Nokia E75 and shots from different angles .

Know your Nokia E75 in pictures and a video.

Nokia E75, Official Demo Video:

Finally, the day has arrived and Nokia has announced two of its enterprise phones, the E55 and the E75 at Mobile World Congress 2009 held in Barcelona.

E55.jpgNokia E55 is the higher and slimmer version of the Nokia E51 and it has a QWERTY keyboard. Having a QWERTY keyboard does not increase the width of the phone as it has two letter on one key. Nokia 55 is not all about enterprise phones as it also has N Gage support. Other functions include a 3.2 mega pixel camera, A-GPS, 2.4 inch screen, which can be also viewed in landscape mode, which makes reading email comfortable. Being a email focused phone, Nokia has also improved its predictive text technology with the phone correcting misspelled words and learning new words. The phone also features a multimedia player that can play music & media files, RDS Radio. You have quick access to home screen, calendar and email functions. The innovative Voice enabled User Interface lets you control the phone without even touching it..Cool!!! Don't know when its coming to India but it will fall in the range of INR 15 to 17K.

E75.jpg

The Nokia E75, which leaked way before this event is the first Enterprise phone from Nokia with a side sliding QWERTY keyboard. The Nokia E75 will be shipped with Nokia messaging solution making it a phone for mobile email users rather than mobile Internet users. Nokia has also improved it email client with this phone to handle HTML and also edit office documents, so kind of a Blackberry killer. E75 is a Quad band GSM phone with dual band HSDPA @ 3.6 mbps. The phone features a 3.2 mega pixel snapper without LED flash and a 2.4 inch QVGA screen with a resolution of 240 x 360. Other features of the phone include, multimedia support with video recording at 30fps in QVGA quality, A-GPS, FM Radio, Wi-Fi and 3.5mm headphone jack. The phone has a dual home screen so that you separate your work and personal life and when it comes to memory cards, the phone supports microSDHC cards and has a microUSB socket. Now the good part is that this phone will be launched around March 13th 2009 and will be priced around £389.99, which comes to around INR 28,000.

Nokia E75, which leaked few days back before it was even officially announced by Nokia is all set to make its official debut in the upcominh Mobile World Congress. Pocket-Lint has got their hands on the specs of this slide-out QWERTY Enterprise Mobile device from Nokia. The phone has a dual home screen so that you sepearte your work and personal life and when it comes to memorty cards, the phone supports microSDHC cards and has a microUSB socket. Now the good part is that this phone will be launched around March 13th 2009 and will be priced around £389.99, which comes to around INR 28,000. If the phone comes to Europe in March then we Indians can see it touch our shores around April-May 2009.

Nokia launched the E63 few days back. E63 looks exactly like the E71 but it is supposedly a toned down version of the E71 with no GPS and less mega pixel camera. There are also other functions that are not there in the E63 but are there in the E71. If you closely look at the specs of E63 they are pretty impressive and the phone exactly loks like E71. The 3G capability of the phone is as good as the E71. What it also lacks is the sleek looking metallic body of the E71. If you aks me, in Rs. 12,000 this phone is a sexy buy man, lloks like E71 has lotta cool functions, does not matter it it has plastic body. By launching this phone at a price point od Rs.12,000 Nokia has made sure that the company is all set to penetrate the mass market. If you ask me, Nokie did a pretty good thing by launching the E63, it will ne like those mass market N Series ohones in India like the N70, N72 and N73, which have penetrated the market really damn well. Well done Nokia or should I say well done E63?

Now this is very strange, Nokia has not officially announced the E71 but the phone’s demonstrations are available here. Last week, BGR got hold of the E71 and gave hands on review, which was very strange, as the phone is not announced yet. Even Nokia is keeping mum on all this and I think they don’t have any problem with the information about Nokia E71 getting leaked (officially/unofficially) everywhere.

I posted on Boy Genius Report having the pictures of actual Nokia E71 and also a hands-on video. Below you will find the exclusive walkthrough video of Nokia E71 by the guys at BGR, the phone looks sleek and loaded with features and don’t forget this one has a 3.2 mega-pixel snapper.

According to the news from Boy Genius Report, Nokia is testing the E71 with AT&T, the US mobile service provider. The E71 was supposed to be launched yesterday but there is no news on that launch till now and today is 9th. Seems Nokia has also entered into the game of running rumor mills and speculations, so that their handsets get more footage. BGR got the report of AT&T working on Nokia E71 from their moles inside AT&T. Some times it helps to have your moles inside big companies.

Nokia will be launching their S60 touch sometime in the second half of 2008. The previous touch screen devices of Nokia like the 6708, which the company made with the help of BenQ, failed; then the Nokia 7710, which nobody knows when, came and when did it go. But one thing that I know is that the 7710 didn’t work on the S60 platform, I think it was the Series 80 or Series 90 platform. Anyways, if Nokia had launched S60 touch at that time then the fate of these devices would have been different. One phone of Nokia, which I think has the ability to match the performance of the Blackberrys and the Q9hs around is the E61i, the only thing this phone does not have is the touch screen, if Nokia makes this phone touch screen enabled with its new S60 touch then the rest will be history. Yeah I know some E71 or something like that model of Nokia is coming later this year, but S60 touch should be used by Nokia to enhance its already popular devices. Lacking the touch.

Finally these two giants will be locking horns for the battle of enterprise phones. Nobody would have though that Apple iPhone will ever compete with Blackberry. This year Apple iPhone gave tough time to all the smart phones in the US market, toppling the position of Microsoft’s Windows Mobile handsets and now it is all set-up to take Blackberry, with its new update.

Recently after posting some pics of a E71, theE61i successor, Boy Genius reports that the E71 will actually be called as Nokia Liam. i thing Nokia Liam is just the code name, I have never seen any Nokia phone being named in such manner. I mean , I agree that they have the Nokia communicator but it is called the E90. May be this one will be Nokia Liam with name as Nokia E71. Lets see. by the way Nokia Liam has 3.2 mega-pixel camera,WiFi, GPS, video call support, S60, 3G support.

Recently I put up a post on the upcoming devices from Nokia's stable. This list had the successor of Nokia enterprise phone E61i, the E71. JUSTAMP has got some pics of this enterprise baddy.

These pics seem real to me, I mean they are not photoshoped. E71, if you look closely, looks like Blackberry, I also liked the Black color of E71 and its slim form factor.

There is a rumor that N96 will be launched in April or May 2008. While reading a few comments of people I came to know more about the N96 specs that, this bad ass N Series phone will have 16Gb of memory, 6 mega-pixel camera. 8Gb will be internal memory and you can add additional 8 Gb external memory, now who needs media and music players on the go, Nokia's "Next Episode in Entertainment", will satisfy all your needs.
