Nokia will be launching their S60 touch sometime in the second half of 2008. The previous touch screen devices of Nokia like the 6708, which the company made with the help of BenQ, failed; then the Nokia 7710, which nobody knows when, came and when did it go. But one thing that I know is that the 7710 didn’t work on the S60 platform, I think it was the Series 80 or Series 90 platform. Anyways, if Nokia had launched S60 touch at that time then the fate of these devices would have been different. One phone of Nokia, which I think has the ability to match the performance of the Blackberrys and the Q9hs around is the E61i, the only thing this phone does not have is the touch screen, if Nokia makes this phone touch screen enabled with its new S60 touch then the rest will be history.
