Nokia has announced that this year's developer summit will be held in Monte Carlo, Monaco on April 28 and 29. These developer summits from Nokia bring together developers, network operators and other business partners of Nokia. This summit will focus on latest trends in applications and content development and also on opportunities for integration and distribution of Nokia's mobile phones and services. Like all the mobility related event this one will also be cramped up with developers as everybody wants to see what is Nokia showcasing in this year's developer summit, especially after the launch of the 3.0 version of the iPhone OS, biggest threat to Nokia's smart phones. The highlights of this year's summit include, updates on publishing to the Ovi store for developers, educating the developers on latest Nokia technologies and platforms like Ovi, Flash Lite, Web Runtime, QT, maemo, special focus on Nokia touch screen devices (means that Nokia is coming up with more touch screen devices this year). Nokia had already hinted toward coming up with more touch screen devices in 2009.
This summit sounds to be pretty interesting, especially if you are a developer. I will be keeping a close watch on the happenings at the summit to see what all interesting stuff is coming our way from Nokia.
