Its school time at NAMP. Last time I had given you an insight on 3G Technology, what is it and how it works? There are markets like India, where 3G technology will soon be coming to mobile phones and there are markets like China and Japan, where 3G is past and these countries are moving to technologies like 4G. So what exactly is 4G technology and how ill it make life easier for a mobile phone user?
As the term suggests, 4G, is a technology that is advanced than the 3G technology. 4G technology offers faster data transfer rates than the 3G technology that is prevalent these days in many developing countries. 4G is a data centric technology and uses IP to transfer data; for voice communications its uses a VoIP kind of technology. Now a days phones come equipped with WiMAX and LTE technologies that fall under 4G. 4G is preferred by users and service providers as it uses IP to transfer data like multimedia at faster data rates. Just imagine enjoying streming movies on your mobile phones, 4G will make it possible for you. Thes days countries and companies are wokring to ward getting 4G technology is everyday applications like wireless broadband access, MMS, video chat, mobile TV, HDTV content, Digital Multimedia Video Broadcasting (DVB).

Sounds exciting. I just got back from China and I don't think I saw much evidence of 4g in Beijing, although the market will be huge since just about everyone has a mobile phone in a city of 70 million people - that's a bigger market than many European countries just in one city.

@the numbers guy - Thanks for your comment. Yeah you are right China is catching up with 4G technology. And as you are saying, emerging countries like India and China would offer many exciting opportunities.

India should start deploying 5G !

Because by the time Government announces auction dates and prices for 3G, world will be already on 5G technology or better.
