Nokia has launched a new outdoor campaign to promote its immensely popular touch screen XpressMusic device, Nokia 5800. The campaign has been launched in the UK. Like in India, the phone has become popular among users in UK and Russia. Nokia has sold 3 million units of the Nokia 5800. This number was wrongly reported as 13 million by one of Nokia's personnel ion North America and everybody's mouth was wide open. Anyway, coming back to the campaign, Nokia is been advertising the phone as UK's number one selling portable music player. Nokia 5800 is made for music and Nokia is again emphasizing this fact with this outdoor campaign. Portraying Nokia 5800 as a portable music player, helps Nokia in pitching against the iPhone as well as the iPod touch....Pretty Clever!!1

Vodafone might not be the most preferred mobile service provider in India but their advertisements have always been a talk of the town. Their ads are pretty out of the box and have certainly helped the company is increasing its subscriber base in India. Also, one more interesting thing is that, these ads have also made the dog breed, “Pug” very much popular in India and there have been reports of Pug sales being increased after Vodafone started showing this dog in their advertisements. Marketing Week has reported that, McCann Erikson might be getting 80 million pound business from Sony Ericsson. These two companies go way back in 2006 when the McCann guys developed a Christmas campaign for Sony Ericsson and McCann is still pursuing Sony Ericsson guys for entering into a advertising contract. Even Saatchi is also pitching Sony Ericsson so that they can get their advertising business. I think Sony Ericsson should enter into a contract with Erickson guys.
