Coming to the Nokia 5530 XpressMusic, which is the third touch screen phone from Nokia in the recent times. Much has been said about the handset since the day it leaked and was mistaken as the Nokia Kenzo or the Nokia 5900. No its not, its just the Nokia 5530 XpressMusic, which started shipping almost a week back and has now been launched in India. The Nokia 5530 is the younger sibling of the popular Nokia 5800, but has some nice features that might make it more likable than Nokia 5800. Check out the hands-on video with the Nokia 5530 XpressMusic and also how the handset fairs when compared to Nokia 5800 XpressMusic.

Nokia 5530 XpressMusic is the latest touch screen phone that has started shipping to all parts of the world. Though it is a little brother of the Nokia 5800, some of its features are way better than Nokia 5800.The features of the phone along with its mid-range pricing will help Nokia to gain more traction with its touch screen phones in markets like India, Russia etc where the Nokia 5800 has sold really well. Nokia 5530 has improved music and touch screen functionality. When you hold the phone in your hands, the most striking feature that you will see is its steel body, which feels very sleek and solid in your hand. The Nokia 5530 XpressMusic is being promoted as a music phone with the help of which you can make calls, being a music oriented phone, it has lot of good features like 3.5mm standard headphone jack, spatial surround speakers etc. Some of the striking features of the phone include, long lasting batter life, home screen widgets (like the Nokia N97; Nokia 5800 lacked them) and also the contacts scrolling bar (you can setup your favorite contacts on this scrolling bar so that you don't need to find their names again and again in your contact book. Nokia 5530 does not have the 3G feature that you get in Nokia 5800, but yeah, it has Wi-Fi so getting connected to wireless networks and browsing the Internet is simple and easy. The Nokia 5530 XpressMusic is the third touch screen handset from Nokia based on the S60 touch OS. It is the toned down version of the best selling Nokia 5800 and has features like a homescreen and a scrolling contacts bar on the home screen. Nokia 5530 recently started shipping all over the world and guys from Mobiles.Co.UK got their hands on one and they bring to you this unboxing video of the Nokia 5530. [Video Via: Cell Phone Addict ] Some of the first impressions about the Nokia 5530 are that it is smaller in size than the 5800 and feels good in hands. The phone also comes with a pair of in-ear head phones, which are really good for listening, if you do not want to invest money on noise cancellation headphones. The phone also has a slide show kind of feature when you go from the home screen to the main menu and vice versa. The 5530 seems to be a winner as compared to the 5800.
Nokia has officially launched the toned down version of the Nokia 5800 XpressMusic, the Nokia Nokia 5530 XpressMusic. The Nokia 5530 XpressMusic is also a S60 based touch screen handset from Nokia and what sets it apart from the 5800 is that it is a entry level handset. The handset has started shipping and would be available in most of the parts of the World by August 11 2009. The handset looks very similar to the Nokia 5800 but has a home screen contacts bar that has a scrolling feature that lacked in the Nokia 5800. It also lacks 3G, which was there in Nokia 5800. The Nokia 5530 also sports a media bar which give you one touch access to your multimedia content and the phone will be available in Black and Red color and not in Blue color. Nokia 5530 also sports a 3.2 meg snapper, with 70MB internal memory and 4Gb microSD card support. Another major change in the handset that the three similar looking key present on the Nokia 5800 and they are replaced by touch sensitive call and function button on the Nokia 5530. Nokia is also all set to launch an upgraded version of the Nokia 5800 XpressMusic and it will be called Nokia 5800i XpressMusic. The handset was spotted on the FCC website. Nokia has positioned the Nokia 5530 XpressMusic as a Music Player, you can make your calls on. Also check out the comparison between Nokia 5800 XpressMusic vs. Nokia 5530 XpressMusic.

Nokia launched its newest mass market touch screen music phone, the 5530 XpressMusic yesterday at the Nokia Connection 2009. The phone, which has no 3G, but all the functions and features of its well known big brother, Nokia 5800 will be priced in India around INR 13K to 14K. I stumbled across some live pics of the phone on ePrice and though why not share my thoughts on these pics with all my readers.

The front look of the 5530 is a bit different and I liked it as compared to the front look of the Nokia 5800. The 5530 has some kind of mesh design on it where as there is no design on the Nokia 5800. Looks a bit bland. Also they have changed the Call, End Call and Menu button on the 5530. It is better than the 5800, where there are just three buttons with three back lights, green, white and red.

The backside of the Nokia 5530 is more interesting than the 5800 with some kind of flowery design. I am not sure if Nokia is planning to give XpressOn covers with the 5530, if yes then thats a damn good idea. Even the camera position has changed in the 5530, its in the top center now as compared to the top left based camera of the 5800. No changes in the camera specs of both the phones.

On the left hand side both the phones have slots for the memory card as well as the SIM card. There is also a slot for keeping the stylus, which I think comes pretty handy while using the 5800, as the phone sometimes is not that responsive to your fingers.

Again no change in the right side buttons of the Nokia 5530. There are three buttons, which let you controls volume, lock/unlock the phone/screen and take pictures.

There is a major change here in the design of the Nokia 5530. If you see, Nokia 5800's top side was cluttered with charging slot, power button, 3.5 mm standard head phone jack and USB slot. But in 5530, Nokia has made it less cluttered (see the picture) and moved the entire thing at the bottom of the phone. Thats nice, guess Nokia heard the pleas of lots of Nokia 5800 users.

Nokia has made the homescreen of the 5530 more interesting and interactive with the Contacts bar that shows 20 of your contacts and you can scroll through them, this was not possible with the 5800. The shortcut bar has moved to the bottom of the phone and the home screen now looks more geeky, which I really like as I hate the plain look of any home screen.

The menu view of both the phones looks almost identical and I am not sure if there will be much enhancements in the menu in the 5530 as compared to the Nokia 5800. Overall, 5530 looks as promising as the Nokia 5800 XpressMusic and mass market appeal is its biggest advantage.

Remember the Nokia 5900 XpressMusic, which leaked and was touted as the successor of the popular Nokia 5800 XpressMusic. Well, CellPassion has the latest and confirmed information about Nokia's road map till June 09 and according to that, this is actually the Nokia 5530 XpressMusic, which is a low end version of the Nokia 5800 XpressMusic. This phone initially leaked on a Chinese website but the super bloggers at Cell Passion investigated and came out with the real stuff. The Nokia 5530 is also known as the Nokia Kenzo with features that include, Dimension: 104x49x13 mm 3.2 MP camera with dual LED flash 2.9 inch QVGA touchscreen with 16 million color support Quad-band GSM, EDGE connectivity, no 3G No Wi-Fi or GPS ASP: sub-$200 150 MB internal memory, expandable up to 16 GB. Nokia Kenzo will be hitting the markets in June'09 and looking at the popularity of the Nokia 5800, this low-end successor might deliver some good market figures.
Phat^Trance of Daily Mobile always has some good news and scoops when it comes to mobile phones. This time he has got his hands on a scoop, which has come from a reliable source of his. According to his source, Nokia will soon be releasing a new Touch screen XpressMusic phone the 5530. This phone will be based on S60v5, will have 2.9 inch touch screen, 3.2 mega pixel snapper and 3.5mm standard headphone jack. There is already a strong rumor that, Nokia is planing to release three new touch screen phones this year. So I guess, Nokia 5530 will be one of them and might see an official pat on its back during the Nokia World Event in September.
