Its been more than one and a half weeks I have been using the Nokia E75. You can checkout the Part I , Part II and Part III of my Nokia E75 review. After using the phone for so many days I have realized that, Nokia E75 needs few improvements both in features and functionality.


Camera Button - The camera button on the Nokia E75 is pretty slow in responding. The camera application does not start unless you keep the button pressed for some time. In most of the Nokia phones, the camera application launches the moment you slide the cover or press the camera button. Initially when I pressed it I thought that its not working but it was later when I realized that the response is very slow. I guess this is not a major fault but then it can be a turn-off for some users as it was for me.


Speaker - The E75 has a speaker on its backside, adjacent to the camera. The speaker is not loud as compared to the Nokia N Series range from Nokia. A louder speaker would be an added advantage to a Nokia E75 user.


Lagged Response & Applications Crashing - I am not sure if this is the problem with the production device I have received but some applications on the E75 like the Email, Chat and also the media player seem to crash often. I am sure this must be the production firmware in the device and in later firmware updates the device will become more stable. Also, sometimes even though the device was fully charged the back light use to just go off for a few minutes, the phones use to work normally but without the back light. Again this can be an issue with the production firmware I was using.


Keypad - Here I am not talking about the QWERTY keypad of the E75, which is flawless. I am talking about the main alphanumeric keypad, which most of the users will use initially. Two functions assigned to one key is my problem. When I want to come out of an application or I am in the contact list I press the Call end button and accidentally delete the contact as the delete button and the Call end button are on the same key. In the similar way, there is no separate power on/off button the E75. The call end button is the power button and its also lets you switch between profiles. For some users its might be good but for me i accidentally switched off the phone twice while i was pressing the call end button.


Having said that, I agree to the fact that, Nokia E75 is a robust enterprise phone with a easy to use QWERTY keypad (major enhancement over the E71), easy to set-up and robust email client with HTML support and a nice Internet browser. The powerful ARM11 processor in the E75 justifies it self. I think, once the retail ready device hits the stores it will be an improved one, after Nokia goes through all the Nokia E75 review that are floating around on the Internet.
