Not Another Mobile Phone Blog

One of its kind Mobile Phone Blog, that gives you views and news about mobile phones from India and across the world. I am in love with Nokia and their phones but I also write about other mobile guys. Think Mobile..Think NAMP!!!!

Steve Jobs has started his keynote address and the people are going crazy at the WWDC 2008. Steve Jobs started with focusing his talks on the iPhone. It has started with third parties showcasing their applications for the iPhone. I am not from few of those who were lucky enough to go to the WWDC, so I am reporting this news as and when it is being broadcasted by different websites that are live blogging about the happenings at the WWDC.
Coming back to the keynote of Steve Jobs, he talked about the Apple SDK and other development activities.
Application for the 3G iPhone

Application show-offs started with Sega showcasing their Super Monkey Ball game for the iPhone. This game works on the accelerometer of the iPhone.
After Sega, it was the turn of the online buying, selling and the auction site, eBay. They have showcased their Auction application for the iPhone. This application is provided by eBay for free for all the iPhone users.
Loopt showcased its location based services application, they have not specified if it will be working on GPS but yes, it will be using the maps application inside the iPhone. With mobile blogging catching up big time and companies like Nokia promoting the phenomenon of mobile blogging, the next application has been showcased by Typepad for the mobile bloggers who possess the iPhone.
Associated Press showcased its application for the iPhone, which is like a reader that will be updated with latest feeds. This application also helps iPhone users to access pictures and videos on the Associated Press website, pretty cool huh!!! As I am writing this there is now news from the news websites, if Apple has announced the 3G iPhone or not. With Loopt announcing the Location based services application I think the new iPhone that will be launching anytime soon has to have a GPS inside.
After that many applications for the iPhone started pouring in from individual developers as well as companies that develop mobile applications. This time Apple has opened up the iPhone big time for third party developers.
Modality also showcased its healthcare oriented application that helps medical students watch human body images on their iPhone. Like Modality, Mimvista also showcased a medical imaging application for the iPhone.
Steve Jobs also told the attendees about the App Store, the only place through which you can get third party applications on your iPhone, though Apple has opened it has kept some strings with itself and that also important ones like the App Store. Anyways, talking about the App Store, it is available in 63 countries and 10 MB or less can be downloaded though air and for applications taking more memory you will need Wi-Fi or Bluetooth.

After Steve talked about the App Store, Apple’s SVP showcased the MobileMe, which he says is the Exchange for the rest of us. MobileMe delivers push e-mail, contacts, and calendars to iPhones. All you enterprise phone guys beware, here comes Apple, with its MobileMe.

Finally it comes....
Then Steve Jobs stated talking about his most favorite thing, the iPhone; last years iPhone launch pics were also shown with some stats about the iPhone, that proved iPhone a favorite among users when it comes to browsing the Internet and other multimedia features. He also told that Apple has sold 6 million iPhones till date. This is something everybody must have waited for; it seems the new 3G iPhone is on its way after this.
Finally, the moment of truth comes and Steve Jobs introduces the 3G iPhone to the world. 3G iPhone till date must have been the most awaited, most hyped and most rumored mobile phone.

Apple’s iPhone has become like a magnet that attracts, rumors, speculations and hype. Internet browsing has always been a favorite activity of users that owned the previous iPhone and with the 3G iPhone launching; Internet browsing on iPhone will certainly grow by mind-blowing rates. The 3G iPhone will be also rolled out in 70 countries including India and will have GPS. So finally the 3G iPhone with GPS is launched, I am happy to see that and cant wait to see hands-on video of this baby by many mobile experts out there. Also, if you don’t know, 3G iPhone will be available only after July 11. Enjoy the post and my million thanks to Tom Krazit of CNet News who was live blogging on his blog, One More Thing about the WWDC 2008.
