Not Another Mobile Phone Blog

One of its kind Mobile Phone Blog, that gives you views and news about mobile phones from India and across the world. I am in love with Nokia and their phones but I also write about other mobile guys. Think Mobile..Think NAMP!!!!

ESET are the guys who make anti-virus software for the enterprise. Their software are pretty good and make sure that you are not vulnerable to any attacks. I am saying this as I have sued their software and it is pretty good as compared to Norton, however they don’t come near to Kasperesky according to me. ESET now has come up with a virus fighting software for mobile phones..oops..smart phones to be precise. As people working in the enterprise and corporate sector are increasingly using their mobile phones to be in touch with their clients, vendors and other stakeholders they are also becoming prone to virus attacks. To tackle this ESET, has come with a new anti-virus program for smart phones and PDAs with a feature set similar to ESET NOD32 Antivirus. The Official Press Release from the company highlights says the following things about this new anti-virus software,

  • On-demand Scanning — Contains scanning and cleaning of integrated and exchangeable memory media, and a full memory/running processes scan. Specific folder scanning is included and results are displayed after a scan.
  • Advanced On-access Scanning — Scans all created/used files with enhanced virus detection capabilities at access time. ESET Mobile Antivirus scans incoming files via wireless connections as well (Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, Infrared).
  • Activity Log — Stores statistics about accomplished scanning tasks and latest database status in a user-friendly format. A variable range of scan results-history is included.
  • Variable In-depth Scanning of Cab Files — Enables users to set the level of cab files scanning to the preferred depth.
  • Automatic/On-demand Updates — Ensures up-to-date protection against all threat types. Users can schedule updates on a daily, weekly or monthly basis. Daily updates are set by default, and users are also allowed to switch off automatic updates if they prefer.
  • Intuitive User Interface — Users' experience is enhanced by easy-to-set dialogs and intuitive menu.
  • Compact Updates — ESET's update files are typically a fraction of the size of solutions that are more dependent upon signatures, consuming less bandwidth to the mobile device (this benefits carriers and users).
One thing is for sure that with so much functionality and space you need to have a smart phone with beefed up memory. And yeah this one's available for smart phones running 5 and 6 Versions of Windows Mobile.
Mobile phones have started taking the place of our computers and notebooks and with the launch of a software like these, it is pretty much evident that smart phones is what most of us will be using to stay connected in our businesses.
