Following the footsteps of Reliance venturing into the GSM turf, Tata has teamed up with Japan's NTT DoCoMo to offer country wide GSM services in India. The new entity is called Tata DoCoMo, in which NTT DoCoMo owns 26% stake. The new entity will launch its GSM services starting from Southern India and then expand its presence in the other regions of India. Reliance recently entered into the GSM marathon in India and is aggressively marketing its services with the help of their brand ambassador Hrithik Roshan. Lets see what are Tata DoCoMo's plans are with respect to marketing and advertising and what kind of tariff plans do they come up with to fight against already established GSM players in India like, AirTel, Idea and Vodafone. By the way, if you think that, DoCoMo is just another Japanese name (which does not make sense) then you are wrong; It stands for Do Communications over Mobile.

Wow!!!! that's cool..Do Communication Over Mobile(DO CO MO)..i just went through their cool website (http://www.tatadocomo.com/default.aspx) and i must say Tata Docomo is getting positioned in the market with their amazing 'pay as you use' concept..its true you just have to pay in seconds..that is if you talk for 12 seconds just pay 12 paise..isn't it great..they are also extended their VAS that is 100 free sms a day,free voice mails,cheap GPRS rates..i must say tata docomo wil be an all rounder in the telecom market!!!waiting to get a sim...

@anonymous - Yeah their strategies are pretty aggressive especially the pay as you use concept, which is very unique to them and they are highlighting the same in their marketing campaigns..lets see how things turn out for them...

hmm bt docomo has taken back thr gprs plan..:( dats nt gud..hope they wil do sumthin abt it soon..by the way m interested in participating the animation contest..

nt much change in the gprs bt change in thr animation contest rules..v cn use all forms of animation it jus has to b a 2D character..yupieee...
