Not Another Mobile Phone Blog

One of its kind Mobile Phone Blog, that gives you views and news about mobile phones from India and across the world. I am in love with Nokia and their phones but I also write about other mobile guys. Think Mobile..Think NAMP!!!!

Both Nokia 5800 and Nokia E75 have been released by Nokia recently. Nokia 5800 was released at the end of 2008 and Nokia E75 was launched at the Mobile World Congress 2009. Check out some high quality pictures below of the two phones, which are targeted to an entirely different set of mobile users. Check out Part I, Part II, Part III and Concluding Part of the Nokia E75 review.

DSC02019.JPGThe front of the Nokia 5800 has a massive touch screen with only three buttons, whereas the E75 has a fully functional alphanumeric keypad. The screen is also nice and crisp. The screen resolution of E75 is more appealing than that of the E75. Many people might find it odd given the big screen size of Nokia 5800.

DSC02020.JPGBoth Nokia 5800 and E75 have single screen set-up of the menu icons i.e. you don't have to scroll down to see the other menu shortcuts. In the both the phones menu options are laid out in a 4 by 3 matrix.

DSC02022.JPGThis is the comparison of the QWERTY keyboards of the 5800 and the E75. As I had mentioned earlier, E75 wins here hands down dues to its well laid and easy to use rocking QWERTY. The 5800's QWERTY keyboard is easy to use when you are using the stylus but if you are a fat fingered guy or a girl then you might end up doing a lot of spelling mistakes.

DSC02024.JPGThe backside of the Nokia 5800 features a 3.2 mega pixel snapper with dual LED flash. E75 also has the same snapper but with one LED flash. Both of them have Auto Focus functionality. In E75 the speaker is located adjacent to the camera and it is not that loud. For the 5800 the speakers are located at the bottom part of the phone on either side and the sound is great.

DSC02025.JPGThe left hand side of Nokia 5800 has slots for the SIM as well as the memory card. In Nokia E75 the slot for SIM card is not there and is replaced by a slot for microUSB. (Sorry for those dust particles on the mobile phone, you cannot avoid them in India I guess.)

DSC02026.JPGThe right hand side of Nokia 5800 has buttons for volume control, screen lock/unlock and camera. The E75 has volume control buttons, Camera button (you have to press it for 4 seconds :-( and camera will be activated) and mute button.

DSC02028.JPGThe bottom of the E75 has a charging slot whereas, Nokia 5800 there is nothing. I think they should have moved Nokia 5800's charging slot to the bottom. The top is pretty cramped up.

DSC02032.JPGAs I mentioned earlier, Nokia 5800's top is cramped up with a power button, charging slot, 3.5mm standard headphone jack and a microUSB port. Nokia E75 just features a 3.5mm standard headphone jack on the top.

DSC02040.JPGThese are the two keypads of the Nokia 5800 and the Nokia E75, which are used for dialing and day to day calling. Below are some more pictures for you viewing pleasure.
