A recent study conducted by TNS and Nokia has revealed that Indians are increasingly using mobile Internet to stay connected with their friends, world news and their jobs. The use of Internet on mobile phones in increasing in India. So we are not close to the Japanese but yes, we Indians are now accessing Internet through our mobile phones as frequently as we access it from our Personal Computers and Laptops.

The study has revealed that, the frequency of mobile users accessing the Internet is 2.4 days in a week and their frequency to access it from their PCs is 2.7 days in a week. So its not bad huh!! So what are Indians using the mobile Internet for, same purpose for which other people in the world are suing it, like, downloading songs, music, games, ring tones, wallpapers and themes. The study was conducted across 15 Metro and Tier 1 cities with 3500 respondents. So India is now becoming a country where people are increasingly accessing the mobile Internet, this is like a pointer to the Telecom ministry, its time now to start deploying the 3G networks, which are getting delayed every month. India's neighbors like China, Japan, Singapore have already tasted the success with 3G and are now moving toward high-end technologies like 3.5G and 4G. Companies like Nokia, for whom India is one of THE important markets, are planning to launch mobile phones with high-end connectivity options like 3G, HSDPA etc.
