Not Another Mobile Phone Blog

One of its kind Mobile Phone Blog, that gives you views and news about mobile phones from India and across the world. I am in love with Nokia and their phones but I also write about other mobile guys. Think Mobile..Think NAMP!!!!

Nokia_Farmer.jpgIndia being an emerging and fast developing country is always on top priority for all mobile phone OEMs and Nokia is not different with respect to its focus toward India. This time, with its "Live Tools" services, Nokia is tapping two biggest communities in India, Students and Farmers. Live Tools services will offer farmers information related to commodity prices, agriculture and weather. When it comes to the Student community, Nokia will make students aware of the nuances of languages by making them understand some keywords in that particular language. The pricing of these services is pretty affordable with a monthly rental of Rs. 30 to Rs. 60. Nokia has made sure that their pricing does not shoo away their target market for these services, especially the farmers. I think that Live Tools for farmers will be successful in India as more and more farmers are adopting technology to reap benefits. But majority of the farming community is still ridden by the loan monster and it will take time for them to adopt to these services. I think, depending on the initial response from the farming community, Nokia should think about bringing the prices down of its low end phones and offer these services free to farmers.
