The HTC G1, first handset featuring Google's Android mobile operating system is all set to make its way on the Indian shores. Fone Arena's Varun, spotted the phone on Univercell's website. Univercell is a pretty well-known mobile phone retailer in South India with presence in online as well as the physical channel. The retailer has not specified the date of the launch but they have given away the price of the HTC G1 phone. It will be priced around 25,000 Rs in India. Many of HTC's phone come bundled with AirTel plan so there is a high possibility that the HTC G1 will come with a AirTel plan. HTC has not made any official announcement regrading the India launch but there were rumors that, the company would be launching the phone in December 2008, so just 5 more days to go man!!! As it has come up on Univercell's online store, the launch announcement will come soon. The phone was launched in the month of September in US by T-Mobile. In US it is known as T-Mobile G1, in India it is called HTC G1. HTC are the guys who have manufactured this phone for Google and the actual name of this phone model is HTC Dream.

@Varun - yeah you are right man. I think marketing the handset under the name of dream would be great. After all, having a Google Android phone is the Dream of many people including me and you ;-)

@Sid - Yeah even there is no official communication from HTC. I tried contacting guys from AirTel and Vodafone to see if i can get any pointers. BUt all are tight lipped about this phone and on its pricing.

@Rishi - Yeah, everybody is tight lipped about this phone, HTC even launched its touch HD few days back in India but there not a single word about the Dream. BUt its good to see that Indians are waiting for this phone eagerly..

As per the records mobile phone has become necessarily for life and if we talk about which is the best Mobile Phone then it’s the Google’s Android that is counted first.
