Now a days majority of the mobile phone companies are going green, whether it be green manufacturing, use of recyclable components, supplier partnerships or supporting some cause or coming out with eco-friendly mobile concepts. Apple, a one year old baby in the world of mobile phones is also going green this time when it will be shipping its 3G iPhone on July 11th. Instead of the phone, Apple’s eco-friendly focus is on the packaging of the iPhone. The packaging will be made of potato starch paper tray. Dutch company, PaperFoam will be making this packaging for the iPhone, incidentally they also supply packaging to Motorola. Last year Steve jobs had promised that this year will see a greener Apple; no he was not talking about changing the logo, but eco-friendliness. iPhone’s packaging is anyways pretty sleek and attractive, now this potato starch packaging will give a high to the environmental police. So this year there is one more company running for the Greenpeace Race, you know who.
