The new Sony Ericsson F305 with Motion Gaming puts 'fun and entertainment' at the heart of the mobile phone. In addition to horizontal gameplay and dedicated gaming controls – to let you control the action the way you are used to – the F305 lets the user control the action with a swing or a swipe of the phone.

Today's announcement sees Sony Ericsson putting gaming at the heart of its latest phone release. Targeted firmly at a youth audience, the F305 with Motion Gaming lets users control games with the flick of a wrist or the swing of an arm, and then see the results straightaway on the screen. Using advanced motion sensor technology, the phone can, for example, follow your actions to imitate bowling or casting a fishing line.

Motion Sensor technology was something that was not at all connected to mobile phones. In the past 7 to 8 months, the technology of sensing motions has penetrated the world of mobile phones. First its was that motion sensor was used in mobile games like the Groove Ball in the Nokia 5500 or just to change your songs by flick of the phone. Now the technology has been used to many things in mobile phones. Gadgets like the Nintendo Wii, took motion sensing to different heights. Apple’s iPhone, LG Secret, all made motion sensing technology the “in” thing. Like its counterparts, Sony Ericsson has also tied up with GestureTek. This partnership will enable Sony Ericsson to get motion controlling sensor technology on its mobile phones. With this, Sony Ericsson phones will get games that will run on this technology; users can control the game characters just by tilting the mobile phone. This technology will be used in the upcoming and existing mobile phone models of Sony Ericsson. Sony Ericsson is very positive with this Wii like technology getting onto mobile phones and so am I, but how the Wii like technology will feel like on mobile phones, is a big question. By the way, Sony Ericsson had the motion control technology in one of their music phone some time back, remember Shake me, Sense me in the W580???
