Some really new handsets and technologies will be unveiled here. From Nokia’s booth I am damn sure it will be the N82 and the N96, which they might showcase with Sony Ericsson showing the XPERIA and other handsets.

Nokia N96 Specs became official on the Nokia Germany website. There was no word from Nokia on this new multimedia monster is it that Nokia is waiting for a chance so that it tells the world if N96 is real or fake.....I think they are waiting for the Mobile World Congress...I am waiting to get updates about both Nokia and Sony Ericsson about Mobile World Congress.

Nokia came up with an idea to run a promotion during the recent 2007 Cannes Lions Advertising Festival….there were people who were allowed to shoot a 30 second commercial related to environment….but how is Nokia promoting it??..hmm good question..the people who were participating in this venture had to shoot this commercial with the help of a Nokia N93i…got it…no..then I can’t explain more. This group was branded as Young Creative Film Competitors and worked along with MTV Switch, a new campaign from MTV, aimed at teaching the young and restless new ways to help save the mother earth. It seems Nokia is really promoting its self on the environment center stage.

[Via Nokia Press Release] - "Nokia Nseries was thrilled to be a part of this project to arm filmmakers with this exciting new medium of mobile video through which the students could create commercials and the film crew could capture the experience for all the world to see," said Tapio Hedman, Senior Vice President, Multimedia Marketing, Nokia. "The Nokia N93i devices that were used in this project are a perfect example of how Nokia constantly pushes the frontiers of technology forward to provide innovative new media for everyone to leverage as they create and share their works."

Today, in the Nokia World Event, Nokia highlighted their vision for the mobile industry in future. They focused on the convergence of mobile handsets and Internet. Nokia said that they are committing themselves to drive these two trends in the mobile handset industry. Nokia has introduced the Comes with Music program in this event; this revolutionary program enables people to buy Nokia handsets with a year of unlimited access to millions of tracks and after the year’s subscription is over, people can happily keep the tracks with themselves. Nokia also highlighted the Ovi service, which is an Internet service environment.

Nokia N Series has announced the ultimate technology challenge in India called the Digital Playzone. Now let me tell you what is this challenge all about, this challenge will be held over a weekend and 4 aspiring Techno Freaks or Geeks whatever you might prefer to call them, will be selected to go into a glass enclosure where they will perform a series of increasingly difficult tasks while living the ultimate tech life for three consecutive evenings.
The Digital Play zone will surely showcase the convergence of entertainment and technology. By the way now a days Nokia is too much into internet, Music and Imaging...so by this contest they want to show people that technology is also important to them.. ;-)

Nokia is once again arranging the World Mobility event this December in Amsterdam. Nokia World 2007 is a premier global conference for the mobility and internet industries, which attracted a lot of high profile visitors last year.
Nokia World 2007 will feature renowned keynote speakers, focused seminar streams, an expo with over 80 demonstrations, and the Nokia Party. Sometimes I really wonder how much efforts Nokia puts in the campaigns and conferences…may be this is the reason that Nokia is the best and its competitors are not even close to Nokia in terms of popularity and market share. Motorola and Sony Ericsson are you reading this?????

Nokia recently had a press release about their future plans related to Mobile Technology. I think, keeping this in their mind, guys at Nokia organized a Technology Media Event “The Way We Live”. This event had technology experts and visionaries talking on various topics including, nano-technology, mobile banking, new energy sources and web technologies.

“The world of mobile communications is changing at an ever increasing pace” said Tero Ojanperä, Chief Technology Officer, Nokia in his key note address. “To continue to stay ahead in this environment and to develop innovative new products and services that excite consumers, companies need to embrace openness on many levels. At Nokia, we work with experts in the academic, scientific and developer communities, and increasingly importantly, directly in interaction with our customers, Innovation can come from anywhere, and we need to have the tools and flexibility to respond to that challenge.”
Presentations and demonstrations at the event highlighted areas of advanced research being undertaken by the company, many of which are in cooperation with individuals, companies and research organizations around the world, reflecting the company’s drive for open innovation and establishing a strong “beta culture” –trialing and evaluating new applications and services quickly - around the company’s products and services.
