Not Another Mobile Phone Blog

One of its kind Mobile Phone Blog, that gives you views and news about mobile phones from India and across the world. I am in love with Nokia and their phones but I also write about other mobile guys. Think Mobile..Think NAMP!!!!

chinese_mobile phoneThe recent bomb blasts in India have shocked people all over the world. Day before yesterday there were severe blasts in some of the most crowded areas of Delhi. This is the first time such blasts are happening in big Indian cities within a short span of time. Use of China made mobile phones in these blasts is something that is coming up as an evidence again and again . These Chinese mobile phones have penetrated the Indian market and anybody can get their hand on these phone, as they are very cheap. Terrorists and anti-social elements prefer these mobile phones as they are very cheap; their ability to carry double SIM cards (GSM & CDMA); these phones do not have a proper IMEI number(the IMEI number is a 15 digit code unique to every legitimate mobile phone), so the location of these phones cannot be tracked; paying a mere 8000 to 10,000 bucks you can get a phone with dual-SIM slots, mobile radio, mobile TV and many other functions. All these factors are making the Chinese mobile phones a favorite among the terrorists. One more advantage for terrorists is that, these phones are available mostly in the black or the grey market and when you buy something from these markets, you just pay the money and get your stuff, nobody will ask your name and address whenever you are buying anything from these places. This helps the terrorists use these gadgets against humanity and they come out clean. Indian government and Department of Telecommunications (DoT) are planning to take strict action over the sale of these mobile phones in the Indian market and hope this move will put some brake on the speed at which Chinese mobile phones are proliferating the Indian mobile phone market.

Are China made Mobiles are available in Dual Sim Card Cell Phones? I am doubtful about china made mobils, is it really worth to buy them as they available only at cheaper costs and worst in quality.

Would like to hear some comments regarding the recent development in Telecommunication sector where the Indian Telecommunications Secretary Siddharth Behura has asked the chiefs of the country's top mobile operators to adopt a policy of self-regulation in sourcing telecoms equipment. There is a tiff growing as the Indian govt is seeking a ban on Chinese manufactured equipment in 20 states while mobile firms are against it. Even if govt manages to put a control on Chinese companies, many companies (e.g. UTstarcom) have the escape route as they are listed in US and Europe while all their manufacturing and RnD is done in China. Should not the Indian govt should put a leash on such companies too? Please comment.

    Thanks.
