With Google's new Internet browser, The Chrome, taking almost 3% of the market share within a few days of its launch, the company's new mobile OS Android, will be doing the same. T-Mobile would soon be launching an Android based mobile handset, the Dream, manufactured by HTC. As per latest forecasts from Strategy Analytics, Google and T-Mobile would be selling around 400,000 units of Android base phones by the end of 2008. This is a very positive outlook from the research firm. But given the low cost at which Android handsets are going to be launched (retail prices of Android based handsets would be less than $200) and also the hype and buzz that is being created around them, this forecast might turn out to be true. If Google and T-Mobile are able to get to these numbers then , they would have 4% share of the smart phone market, which is not bad, given the fact that this is Android's debut that has been long awaited.
