Not Another Mobile Phone Blog

One of its kind Mobile Phone Blog, that gives you views and news about mobile phones from India and across the world. I am in love with Nokia and their phones but I also write about other mobile guys. Think Mobile..Think NAMP!!!!

As I had told you before that, the iPhone 3G does not support MMS, yeah you have read it right, this multi touch interface phone does not support MMS. MMS functionality is available now a days in most of the phones you get out there. Considering the multimedia benchmarks that iPhone has set, this seems to be false. This might be false because iPhone Atlas has reported that according to an internal AT&T Memo, the iPhone supports MMS that will help the iPhone users in transmitting text, pictures, and potentially video to other MMS-enabled phones. However there is another part to this news, a guy has commented on the news saying that, these are the standard customer plans that AT&T has and this plan would have been used for other phones also, you know, you have standard user guides so something like that. I agree with the commentator than, iPhone Atlas cause, if the iPhone supported MMS, then Steve Jobs would have certainly announced this in his keynote address. He also knows that no MMS support can be a big turn-off for existing as well as potential iPhone customers.

Hi Vikram - I dont think MMS is a key feature. In the iphone u can anyway transmit pictures and sounds using email. And MMS as a medium has never caught on the way SMS did.. with 3G and WiMax soon becoming the norm people could altogether stop using MMS and switch to email.

MMS is cheap way of sending pictures and other media files as compared to email, which needs internet activation. But you are right its not a key feature.
