Taking forward its Green initiative, Nokia has announced that they will be launching 40 mobile phone models that will be green. Business Standard has announced this in one of their news stories. Now by green I don’t mean that these phones will be green in color but they would comprise components that are easily biodegradable. Some components of mobile phones have substances that are potentially dangerous and Nokia wants to focus on reducing the dangers caused by such kind of substances. In its process of getting out the Green mobile phone brigade, Nokia will use biodegradable phone covers, recyclable battery designs. Also Nokia is making sure that people who work in Nokia care centers are well versed with issues related to recycling of mobile phones and their components and convey the same to the customers of Nokia. It seems not getting the Greenpeace Award has hit Nokia with a lot of impact. Nokia is making sure that when it comes to environment related initiatives they are at par with Sony Ericsson and Motorola.
