Not Another Mobile Phone Blog

One of its kind Mobile Phone Blog, that gives you views and news about mobile phones from India and across the world. I am in love with Nokia and their phones but I also write about other mobile guys. Think Mobile..Think NAMP!!!!

Sony Ericsson is going the Nokia way when it comes to Music. Remember PlayNow Arena, the service started by Sony Ericsson where you can buy music tracks. Now, Sony Ericsson has added one more feather to its Music Cap; they have entered into deals with Sony BMG, Warner Music Group, EMI, The Orchard, IODA, The PocketGroup, Hungama, X5 Music, Bonnier Amigo and VidZone. They are also planning to enter into deals with regional record label producers.

Sony Ericsson has added 5 million Tracks to the PlayNow Arena. The company also did some revamping of the PlayNow site and is encouraging amateur and developing artists. Sony Ericsson has launched the PlayNow Uncut for such people, so that the world can hear them and appreciate their talents.
Sony Ericsson is planning to showcase its PlayNow Arena at Midem 2008 in Cannes, France. It seems that Sony Ericsson has realized the importance of functionalities like Music and imaging and is making a serious effort to counter rivals like Nokia who are reigning in the Mobile Music space. I am sure Nokia will be ready with its own strategy to counter Sony Ericsson’s PlayNow Arena, but till then Sony Ericsson’s PlayNow is set to garner hell lot of attention from mobile enthusiasts.
