I had read a lot of times that there many fake Nokia mobile phones floating in the Chinese market. Everybody wants to have some part of Nokia’s success it seems. The Central Crime Branch arrested four people for selling fake Nokia mobile phones on Monday, September 10, 2007. These people loaded Nokia software in these fake babies and sold them. The phones were recovered from three shops in Gandhinagar, Bangalore. The booty had some 90 high end Nokia handsets (N73 & N95) and rest all were mobile phone accessories and pouches with fake Nokia labels.
Sometime back Chinese manufacturers came up with a Nokia N95 clone, the Nokla N95, incidentally the fake phones recovered in Bangalore were sold under the name of Nokla and Nokai.
First the case of exploding batteries and now this fake phone catch in Bangalore…it seems you have to pay some price for being Numero Uno.
