With mobile subscribers from rural parts of India showing a steady growth, both, mobile OEMs and mobile services providers that their strategies are aligned to this market and they provide products and services, which cater to their needs. OEMs like Nokia have launched a lot of new services and products that appeal to the Indian rural mobile user. In the similar way, AirTel has launched a new service center initiative in the rural belt of Karnataka. Getting help on mobile services has always been a pain for the rural customers and in order to tackle this issue, AirTel will be setting up AirTel Service Centers in main markets across villages in Karnataka. These service centers will be equipped with personnel who will help rural subscribers with their problems/queries with respect to AirTel's mobile services. This is a good move by AirTel as it will facilitate quick servicing of rural subscribers and also help AirTel in increasing their footprint in the rural region.
