Taiwan based outsourced manufacturer, Compal has landed with 100,000 Nokia Booklet 3G orders from Nokia. This news has been reported by Digitimes . None of the companies have officially confirmed this information. The order needs to be fulfilled by the end of 2009, which has almost come. Nokia officially unveiled the Nokia Booklet 3G at the Nokia World Event 2009 and is the first Netbook from the Finnish giant. With this Windows 7 based Netbook, Nokia has jumped into the Netbook game dominated by players like Acer, Asus, Sony etc. The Booklet 3G boasts of a 12 hours of battery back up time, Intel's 1.6GHz Atom Processor, in-built WLAN, WWAN, 3G/HSPA with hot swappable SIM card connectivity.
As per the story on Digitimes, "Panels for the Booklet 3Gs will be supplied by AU Optronics (AUO) and Chunghwa Picture Tubes (CPT), the sources noted.Nokia will purchase 3G modules for the Booklet 3Gs initially from Belgium-based Option Wireless Technology but will also add China-based Huawei Technologies to the 3G module supplier list later, the sources added".
