Its one the top priorities for Nokia to keep developing new products and services that appeal to this market and make sure that the rural users are equipped with technology that is useful to them in their day to day activities. This time, the Finnish giant is focusing on microfinancing hadnsets for the Indian rural sector. The company is looking forward to launch a pilot program under which poor rural buyers would be able to get their hands on Nokia handsets under a weekly installment scheme. India is the second biggest market for Nokia and by devising such programs and strategies, it wants it's position to be stronger. The program has been launched in two rural regions of India, where users can afford a handset by paying weekly installments of INR. 100 over a period of 25 weeks. Unlike any other players in this space, Nokia has successfully tapped the Indian rural market.
