Unlike Nokia phones, which do not appeal much to the mobile users of the younger generation, iPhone as a device appeals to mobile users who are young as well as users who are old and expect more than entertainment from their mobile phones. A recent study from Nielsen says that iPhone users are equally distributed over the age spectrum. The distribution is same across people who use iPhone and fall in the age group of 13 to 24 and iPhone users who are 55+ years of age. This is very interesting as when it comes to mobile phones they generally appeal to a particular demographic or people who have specific usage patterns. The study also says that largest number of iPhone users fall in the age group of 35 to 54. I guess one of the main things that appeals to iPhone users is its multi touch interface, availability of thousands of applications and awesome Internet browsing capabilities.
