PalmPre-frontview.jpgLook who is coming, the Palm Pre. Sprint has announced the official launch date of the Palm Pre, its June 6th 2009, just two days before Apple's WWDC. Palm Pre will be priced around $199 after $100 mail rebate and 2 year contract with Sprint and will come with a plan. Right now the Pre is CDMA enabled as we know that Sprint is a CDMA network. There is no word on Palm on the date when this promising-iPhone-killer will be available in other countries outside US and also if the GSM version is on its way. The Palm Pre works on the revolutionary Web OS, which according to some experts has the guts to topple Apple from its thrown of ultimate touch experience. The phone has generated the same hype as the iPhone generated for the first time when it was launching. This time the Pre will be launched just two days before the WWDC 2009, where Apple's new iPhone would be unveiled (I am keeping my fingers crossed). The Pre will be available in Sprint.com, Sprint Stores, RadioShack, BestBuy and Walmart. There is also a rumor going around that initially Sprint will only make 30,000 units of Palm Pre available. Lets wait and watch and keep coming back as more and more information about the Pre gets unveiled. Till then enjoy this Palm Pre unboxing video.

I am glad Sprint and Palm decided not to price it more than 199. (Usually palm phones at Sprint launch in the 249, and even 299 range..)

It's very gutsy on their part, to not wait for apple to announce the new Iphone. Actually, first I was hoping that Apple would drop the price to 99, but now it doesn't look like it. (Especially with OLED screen rumors...those things are expensive). The good part is 2-3 more weeks, and our wait will be over, and all our questions answered!
