This is one more addition to the Cost cutting measures of the Finnish mobile giant, Nokia. After announcing the layoffs of 1700 of its employees, Nokia is now all set give a major heart break to its partners in the manufacturing of mobile phones. Nokia has stopped using the services of its contract manufacturers when it comes to the assembly of mobile phones. So now Nokia will manage its assemble lines by itself and will not depend on its outside contractors. In the year 2008, Nokia outsourced almost 17% of its manufacturing work to outside contractors like, Foxconn, BYD, Elcoteq and Jabil Technologies. Nokia's ability to adapt to the changing market demands and circumstances is commendable though the EMS (Electronic manufacturing Services) providers and ODMs (Original Design Manufacturers) will suffer from this harsh decision of Nokia.
