After launching the N97, Nokia is launching a Series 40 based touch screen phone, the Nokia 6208 Classic. Unlike the N97, this phone features a alphanumeric keypad. The S40 will obviously a tweaked interface to match the touch functionality. There is no official communication from Nokia on this phone and there are rumors that Nokia might launch this phone in China. This phone has a 2.8'' TFT touch screen interface with 240 x 320 resolution and 16 million colors. It does not have Wi-Fi and 3G but is blessed with the lesser evils EDGE and GPRS. With 27MB internal memory, the phone can support microSD card. Its 3.2 mega pixel snapper comes with auto focus and flash. Not much details are available on this phone. Nokia has said that, its touch screen phones will be targeted toward the mid-range market. I am sure that, the Nokia 6208 won't be costly. Nokia was the one, who brought color phones to every Indian pocket and now it might repeat the same with its touch screen offerings.
