On June 9th, Steve Jobs launched the 3G iPhone, Apple’s second and improved version of the iPhone that was launched last year in the month of June. The iPhone 3G was even more hyped and rumored gadget than the old iPhone. The iPhone 3G gives best internet experience as it has the 3G technology and why not, most of the iPhone owners use it as an internet browsing device rather than a mobile phone. Steve Jobs announced that the iPhone 3G would be available in 21 countries from July 11th 2008 (now it is 22 countries including France) and when that day arrived Apple stores were jam packed with people, dying to buy the 3G monster. Along with the 3G iPhone, Apple also launched the App. Store from where users can buy applications for their iPhone and iPod Touch. The new 3G iPhone is only available to the residents of that country that, where it is launched, you need to have a wireless account number, social security number and good credit history, if you want to get your hands on the iPhone. Apple has done this primarily to fight against people, who sell unlocked iPhone in unauthorized market where it is not launched. Apple’s strategy is to tie up with operators and launch the iPhone. Till now, Apple has not officially announced that they are going to launch the unlocked version in any other country except US. In US, AT&T will be coming up with an unlocked version of the 3G iPhone but it will cost $500, the current price of the iPhone 3G is $199. The iPhone 3G, though it has its own drawbacks, has managed to gather immense attention as well as money. Apple has sold 1 million iPhone 3G in just three days of its launch, isn’t it amazing, only an iPhone can do this. Anyways, the iPhone will be making its way to the Indian market in the month of August and the Indian consumer is waiting for it to come to India. The old iPhone made its way to India long time before it was officially launched. Till now there are just rumors that the iPhone 3G has been unlocked and is available in Hong Kong but nothing concrete. However, the unofficial, official blog of the "iphone-dev team" has said that they have the capability to unlock the 3G iPhone…really???

The concept of “Concept Phones” is not something that is new to the mobile handset companies. This post is just a round-up of the latest Concept Phones that Nokia has in its kitty.

Nokia People First Phone
Like the name of this concept, Nokia has put people’s point of view first while designing this concept mobile phone. Nokia People First phone is a mobile phone with next generation user interface. Nokia developed this phone for people who cannot read or write. The interface of this mobile phone would not have any language. This project is a part of Nokia’s Beyond Green project, which aims to have a serious impact on the world we live in. The UI of this phone is displayed as a chronological list of actions - whether you receive a call, send a message or interact with the device. Recently carried out actions are displayed first and the history goes back all the way to the back when the phone was switched on.

Nokia Remade Concept
Nokia has come up with this concept to compete in the world of green mobile phone manufacturing. This phone has been made up all the recycled materials like aluminum cans, plastic drinking bottles and old car tyres and may be that is the reason it is being called Remade. The name also sounds that it has been recycled. This is not the first time that Nokia has come up with a eco-friendly mobile phone. Earlier it launched the Eco-Sensor concept and after that Nokia came up with the Nokia 3110 its first commercial model with eco-friendly materials used in its manufacturing.

Nokia Eco-Sensor Concept
Nokia’s Eco-Sensor concept phone senses the environment around itself and its user. This phone will have a sensor, which is external and wearable and will monitor environment, health and local weather conditions. These devices will be made of latest environment friendly technologies and printed electronics, biomaterials and recycled materials..now this is cool…Nokia wants to be number 1 in what ever they do and innovation never stops at this Finnish Giant’s research centers around the world.

Nokia Morph
This one is the latest phone that has joined the list of innovative concepst from the Nokia stable. Morph is developed by Nokia with help from the Cambridge University. Many companies launch such concept phones to show off their technical and product development skills but this one is different and what makes it different is, nanotechnology.
The Morph uses nanotechnology based flexible materials, transparent electronics and self-cleaning surfaces. The phone can easily change shapes and colors, now that’s something unique for this concept phone. The Nokia 888 was one such concept phone, which was very innovative. The phone was developed at the Nokia Research Center based out at the University of Cambridge Campus.
