Spice mobiles has launched the cheapest 12 MP Camera phone in India. The Spice S-1200 will cost just INR 14K. Few days back, Nokia's upcoming 12 MP camera phone N8-00 leaked and I am damn sure it wont cost 14K INR. Last year also, Spice Mobiles launched the cheapest 5 MP camera phone in India. The pricing of the S-1200 is indeed disruptive and will force the big wigs to think about the pricing of their camera phones. The phone's 12 MP camera has a Xenon Flash (awesome!!), 3X optical zoom, Auto Focus, smile shutter, anti shake, Multiple face detection and 24 preset shooting modes. Whoaa!! looks like this one is a digital still camera that can also make phone calls. Other features of the phone include, 70MB internal memory,2.4 inch screen, 32 GB expandable memory, GPRS/EDGE, Bluetooth, FM, TV-Out, games, audio, video, FM recording, photo editor. The specs are really impressive and the 14K price tag is Sweet. Hope the phone does well on the quality front. In the past six to seven months, companies like Spice, Max Mobile, Karbon etc are launching phones, which have smart phone like features but are super affordable. And these phones are doing really well in Tier 1 and Tier 2 towns of India, which were flooded with Chinese phones.
