The upcoming iPhone, which is now supposedly launching on July 17th is rumored to have a compass, which indicates of a built-in magnetometer. This helps the compass in showing right directions. This digital compass, which will be used in Apple's newest iPhone will be supplied by a Japanese company called Asahi Kasei. Some geeky developers found out compass files in the iPhone 3.0 developer version, which identify Asahi Kasei's azimuth sensor. Sounds too geeky for me. Generally mobile phone companies procure their components from China and Taiwan, but this is not the first time Apple is procuring from a Japanese technology supplier, Asahi Kasei has been the supplier for the iPod Touch since its launch but nobody is clear as to what exactly Asahi is supplying to Apple for iPod Touch. Recently, some more specifications of the new iPhone leaked, which now will have a 3.2 mega pixel snapper, video recording, 32GB beefed up memory and more processing power, so then more high-end games now!!!
