With Indian market becoming increasingly importance for mobile phone companies like Nokia, Sony Ericsson and Samsung, new strategies and management changes are implemented in order to crack the Indian market. To cater the Indian market and strengthen its operations in India, Sony Ericsson has announced the appointment of Anil Sethi as the new President and Region head of India. Before this Anil used to work for Sony Canada for almost 8 years. Sony Ericsson, as we all know is not doing that great in the Indian market since the start of 2008 and it is facing tough competition from Samsung and LG. LG is coming up with a range of phones with exciting and unique features whereas Samsung has become aggressive with its market development strategies in India and then there is Nokia. Hopefully this new appointment will help Sony Ericsson in strengthening its position in the India market. Sony Ericsson has already established its manufacturing and R&D presence in India. Strengthening of these operations and laying out a strategic path for Sony Ericsson in the Indian market would be first and foremost on the new President's agenda.
