The big three of mobile handset industry have declared their Q3’07 results and not to the surprise of all, Nokia is way ahead of Sony Ericsson and Motorola. Sometimes I really feel what does Nokia make do, which Sony Ericsson and Motorola are not doing? I mean, Nokia phones are simple and have almost the same functions, which are available in a Sony Ericsson and Motorola phones but still it is Nokia, who among the three, sells more number of handsets.
We know Motorola is technologically advanced and in terms of quality it has the label of Six Sigma but still, their phones don’t do well, especially in the emerging markets. Sony Ericsson also, when it was a new entrant, was not doing that good, the moment it started introducing special K Series and W Series multimedia handsets, it popularity and acceptance have shot up.
Nokia has handset models offering features, which suit the needs of people from all strata of life and most importantly their handset’s user friendly interface and intuitive menus, help people to do things with their cell phone easily.
Sony Ericsson and Motorola also lag behind Nokia when it comes to reaching consumers. Nokia proactively participates in shows, organizes events and focuses on advertisements, which highlight the human side of mobile handsets. With its punch line as, “Connecting People”, no wonder people have accepted Nokia as the only handset, which truly connects two people…….Emotionally.
