MI3 is different when it comes to the portrayal of Ethan’s character also, in the earlier two parts Ethan was romantically involved but not to an extent of getting emotionally unstable (like the scene in MI3 where Ethan, in a fit of anger hangs Philip Seymour Hoffman upside down from the plane). But in MI3 he has a wife and is about to start a family, so he is not a carefree daredevil in this movie, the way he is shown in MI1 and MI2.
This movie has three missions for Ethan Hunt, the first and last mission are not that good as compared to the missions that are generally given to Ethan in other parts. The 2nd mission in this movie is superb where he has to kidnap Davian (Philip Seymour Hoffman) from the Vatican. This mission is quite thrilling but the bad part is when they blow up the Lamborghini man…it really hurts as it hurts to the female IMF agent..I forgot her name. But after the kidnapping, when Ethan is talking to Davian on their way back to IMF, the kind of attitude Davian shows is real good and Ethan gets psyched out by Davian’s attitude and confidence.
The last mission in MI3 where Ethan has to rescue his wife from Shanghai and also prove his innocence is good but the funny part is, his wife saves him from the bad guys at last. So it is actually a Mission Impossible for her, she being a doctor in local hospital.
The movie ends with Ethan retiring from IMF, I wonder why has he retired has he got bored or might be that he already has a Mission Impossible in his life i.e. his wife ( the never ending Mission Impossible).
